"The Bible, which contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. It's doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. CHRIST is its grand subject, our good design, and the glory of God." The Gideon International In addition, we believe in the tenets and the organization (offices and ministries) of the first Church as recorded in the Book of Acts, the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and the giftings of the Holy Spirit as manifested through the lives and works of Jesus Christ and the Apostles. We also believe in... 1) The Bible - The unfolding revelation of God of Himself through His spoken Word and as He intervened in history, in nature, and finally coming into this world as God-Man. The Bible is an instruction book and the Authority. 2) The Godhead - The Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each are equal, divine in nature, and possess the same attributes. 3) God the Father - Eternal, unchangeable, holy, merciful, love, grace, and just. He is the Sovereign God of this universe and our Heavenly Father - the I AM THAT I AM. He is Holy, His Name is Holy...YAHVEH is His Name. The Jewish people had so much reverence for The Name that they purposed to protect The Name, to keep HaShem from being profaned. 4) God the Son - Jesus Christ, Co-Creator of the universe; the eternal Son of God who was born of a virgin. Jesus was God incarnate who took upon himself human flesh and walked among men (the Word made flesh). The second person in the Trinity through whom God speaks to and reveals Himself to man. God the Father sent him into this world not to condemn the world but to save those who were lost; that men might have life and have it more abundantly. He came as the Lamb (sinless Son) of God who died on the cross for our sins. Father God's Name was restored to men when He sent His Word Who became flesh, and dwelt among us. His Son came in His Fathers' Name; YahShua is the salvation of YAHVEH. Yahshua came to establish his holy name and his holy kingdom to be salvation, who he is, in the holy name of YAHVEH. 5) God the Holy Spirit - YahRuach, the Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity and the Administrator of the Church on earth. Our Comforter (Paraclete), Advocate, and Teacher. The Holy Spirit has many ministries: He anoints, empowers, regenerates, convicts, glorifies God, and becomes the primary agent in our salvation. He is the Spirit of Truth and Holiness who indwells every believer. 6) Creation - God created the heaven and the earth. Each thing was designed and created by the Word of God; inherent in that design was the ability for most things to reproduce after it's own kind. There is evidence of design, principles, and laws in all of creation. God is in absolute control and Jesus sustains it all. 7) Man - Created in the image of God - sinless. God created man to love him, and to serve Him. God wants to fellowship with man and to be glorified in him. Man fell into sin in the Garden of Eden when he (Adam) was tempted by Satan and disobeyed God. Man became separated from God and developed a corrupt (sinful) nature that is at issue. We cannot be reunited with God until He changes our nature and our heart. 8) Salvation - The gift of God's grace whereby He provides forgiveness for our sins. Related only to the person of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, and our belief in him as Savior and Lord. Salvation is a personal relationship with the Son of God as a result of our simple faith in Him. 9) The Church - The universal Church should proclaim the name of Jesus. It is not a club nor a place for social fellowship. The church is the body of Christ, infilled and enabled by the Holy Spirit corporately and individually. The work and ministry of the church is in reaching out and bringing people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the making and teaching of disciples. 10) The Christian Life - Christ living and expressing His life through us. One who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and one through whom Jesus Christ is expressing His life and nature. It is not enough to be saved. We are to progressively mature in our knowledge of Jesus Christ; growing in our intimacy with Him, growing in our commitment to Him, growing in our understanding of Him, and growing in our surrender to Him (through trials, tribulations, and persecutions). We also grow in the following ways:
11) Satan - A real person who deceives, divides, and distracts. Also a high-ranking angel who rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven; he wanted to be like the Most High God - equal to God with the same power and reputation. He chose to set up a counterfeit kingdom - the world system which is without God. If you have rejected Jesus Christ, your god is Satan. Satan speaks in terms of now and not the future; that which satisfies the carnal nature (feeling good, doing now, buying now, etc.). 12) Man's Eternal Destiny - Eternal life for the believer. When we (the believers) enter into the presence of God in the final judgment, our names will be found in the Lamb's "Book of Life." Jesus paid the price for our sins and cleansed us in His blood. Your body may die but your spirit will be with the Lord. The unbeliever will go to a place of suffering and torment until the final judgment. 13) The Future - Jesus is coming back for His Church. The dead in Christ will rise first: The Resurrection. Those who are alive will be transformed instantly and caught up with the Lord. Those who are not saved will not be included in the Resurrection. Subsequent to this event will be the great tribulation during which time God will send down His judgment upon the earth. At the end of this period, Jesus Christ will come again with his angelic hosts and wipe out every single evil and vile thing on the face of the earth, transform it, and make it a part of heaven (the heavenly city - the new Jerusalem. The Lord Jesus Christ will begin his millennial (1,000 year) reign here on earth during which time Satan will be in chains. At the end of this period, Satan will be loosed for a season but ultimately thrown in the lake of fire and destroyed forever; the great and final judgment will begin when all of the wicked stand before God to be judged. It all ends in Eternity: the ultimate and final heaven and the ultimate and final hell. NOTE: The King James Version of the Bible is used throughout unless otherwise noted. And finally we believe that by the power given unto Jesus after his resurrection, prior to his ascension to the right hand of God the Father, but which power lies in the Name of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus, that we are commissioned to "... Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20 Jesus Christ also commanded us to, "...Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." Matthew 10:8 |
